What Are Dermal Fillers?
They can be used to treat volume loss in the cheeks and corners of the mouth, helping to alleviate the sunken look and effect of gravity that comes with age. They do this by assisting in the rehydrating process and adding noticeable volume in the targeted areas of the face, providing a more youthful and fresh appearance.
Injectable dermal fillers can also be used to enhance your appearance by plumping up thin lips, enhancing shallow contours, softening creases on your face, eliminating wrinkles and treating recessed scars.

Frequently Asked Questions
The treatment is quite a straightforward process. Before beginning, a numbing cream or a block is employed to make the treatment more comfortable, and ice may also be used to reduce potential swelling and bruising. Following this, the dermal filler is injected, instantly providing volume and lift to the targeted area. Depending on the treatment plan and product selected, the duration of the procedure usually varies between 15 to 45 minutes. The area is massaged once the treatment is over to mould the product into the desired shape, with arnica cream used to reduce bruising.
The 2 main types of dermal fillers are hydroboosters and volumising dermal fillers. Hydroboosters are made to improve the overall condition of the skin through improving skin tone, hydration and elasticity, leaving your skin looking healthy and having a beautiful glow.
Volumising dermal fillers come in 4 different levels of thickness, with finer fillers used on finer areas of the skin while thicker fillers are used for plumping larger areas like cheeks and jawlines. Due to TGA restrictions, we can’t use the name of the fillers. The results last between 6-18 months, depending on the type of dermal filler employed.
How long the results last for is dependent upon the client themselves and the thickness of the products used, with the duration lasting anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. At Ozmedica we encourage clients to book in for a review with our practitioner every 4 to 6 months to ensure that the results are maintained. The practitioner will usually advise the client when to schedule the next appointment.

Made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in our skin, temporary dermal fillers are injected into the skin to plump up the desired area. They are used to add volume to areas of the face, restructure jawlines, tighten necks, straighten the nose and make lips, cheeks and the chin more prominent. The ageing process leads to loss of facial fat, collagen and elastin, which is what causes the drooping skin and the creation of wrinkles and folds. Dermal filler injections are a swift and simple solution for rectifying this with minimal discomfort caused.
The results from the treatment can be observed immediately. We customise filler injections to address your areas of concern with immediate results which can vary significantly over the next several months. Spoiler content.( *Disclaimer: The results vary from person to person.)
